The 3d, 6d and 1s values were issued overprinted OFFICIAL in 1915 / 1916 while
the 4d, 8d and 9d were issued in the 1920s.
None of the other recess printed values were overprinted.
The stamps
The 3d value was issued overprinted OFFICIAL in December 1915, the 6d value in June 1916
and the 1s value in September 1916.
They were all initially issued from sheets in which the top 4 rows were perf 14 x 13½
and the bottom six were perf 14 x 14½.
This resulted in the vertical pairs from rows 4 and 5 being two perf pairs.
3d wmk sideways
1s pale shade
In July 1916, the 3d value on pictorial paper was issued overprinted.
It was line perf 14 and had the NZ and star watermark sideways.
From 1922 to 1934, the 6d value was issued perf 14 x 13½ throughout the sheet
and from 1933, it was also available perf 14 x 14½ throughout the sheet.
From 1922 to 1934, the 1s value was issued perf 14 x 14½ throughout the sheet
and from 1933, it was also available perf 14 x 13½ throughout the sheet.
In1925, there was a small issue in a very pale shade.
The 8d value was issued in August 1922, the 4d from plate 20 and the 9d in April 1925, and
the 4d from plate 44 in April 1927.

The 4d from plate 20 and the 8d and 9d are always perf 14 x 13½ and
the 4d from plate 44 is always perf 14 x 14½.
