The 1/- was first issued on 1 May 1935.
The first issue was on single watermarked fine paper while stamps on
multiple watermark fine paper were issued in April 1936.
Both issues were perforated 14×13½.
Perf 14×13½ fine paper
The only plate was numbered A1 and had 240 impressions.
Stamps overprinted Official were issued in 1937.
Stamps on fine paper were perforated widthwise with those on single watermarked paper only known perforated right to left while
those on multiple watermarked paper were perforated either left to right or right to left.
The example plate block on the right is on multiwatermarked paper, but as there is no side margin,
the direction of the perforation is unknown.
The single perforation hole in the bottom margin shows that it was perforated sideways.

Official Perf 12½
Stamps printed and perforated 12½ by Waterlow
were issued in 1941.
After printing, they had been returned to De la Rue for perforation, but due to further fire damage at
De la Rue, that could not be carried out and so they were returned to Waterlow
for perforation.
Most stamps perf 12½ were overprinted Official
and were issued in April 1942.
Perf 14×13½ coarse paper
Coarse paper
After the plate was returned to De la Rue on
20 November 1941, stamps were issued in March 1942 printed on coarse paper and
perforated 14×13½.
Official Perf 14×13½
They were perforated lengthwise, either top to bottom or bottom to top.
The example on the right was perforated bottom to top.
Note that there is no perforation hole in the bottom margin.
Stamps on coarse paper overprinted Official were issued in 1942.
The 1/- was withdrawn from sale on 30 April 1947.
