Robert Clark: New Zealand Prisoner of War Airmails
Airmails to and from POWs in Italy and Germany were sent via USA. The display shows examples including mail whose journey involved 5 continents.
Andrew Dove: New Zealand Hospital Ship Number 1
New Zealand commissioned two Hospital ships in the First World War. This display gives a short account of the travels and postal arrangements of the first, H.M.N.Z.H.S. Maheno.
John Hepworth: The Beginnings of pre-stamped Mail
An introduction to postal stationery to illustrate its diversity and interest.
John Stimson: It’s just a piece of paper
The paper used for the Second Sideface issues of 1882-1900 offers specialist collectors a wealth of attributes to investigate. Using all the values, this display covers: the panes; how to identify a stamp’s position on the sheet; sheet numbers; top of sheet perforations; sheet watermarks; and “bullseye and cross” printers’ marks. The presentation will educate and inform those unfamiliar with the issue, and aid research for those wishing to delve further.
