Other Societies

  • The
    Royal Philatelic Society of New Zealand     publishes
    a journal and has an annual auction.
    Their website contains information on their extensive publications on
    New Zealand stamps and postal history.
  • The
    New Zealand Philatelic Federation’s     website
    includes information about their activities and
    constituent societies
    including contact details for all Philatelic Societies in New Zealand.
  • The
    New Zealand Stamp Collectors Club     have a monthly newsletter,
    monthly meetings in Christchurch and auctions twice a year.
  • The
    Christchurch Philatelic Society     publishes the monthly
    newsletter Captain Coqk and has the largest philatelic library
    in the Southern Hemisphere.
  • The
    Society of Australasian Specialists/Oceania     promotes the study and
    collection of stamps and postal history of Australia, New Zealand, Melanesia,
    Micronesia and Polynesia.
  • The
    Pacific Islands Study Circle     deals with stamps and postal
    history of the Pacific Islands.
    New Zealand Dependencies are covered, but not New Zealand or
    Australia.
    Their magazine
    Pacifica     is published four times a year.
  • The
    TPO & Seapost Society     deals with Railway and Ship Mail.
    It has pages on New Zealand Marine P.O.Cancels and a Checklist of New Zealand TPO Marks.
  • The Royal
    Philatelic Society of Canada     has an online library of
    articles which are an excellent example of how the internet
    can be used to display philatelic information.
  • The
    Malaya Study Group
    promotes the study of the stamps and postal history
    of the States of Malaya.
  • The
    American Air Mail Society     is the world’s
    largest, and second oldest aerophilatelic society. They are
    publishers of the American Air Mail Catalogue, the monthly Airpost Journal,
    and many other aerophilatelic publications.
    The Society provides many services to aerophilatelists.
  • The Metropolitan Air Post Society
    covers air post history, and the development of aviation, airlines and air mail services.
    It is a chapter of the AAMS.
  • The
    Canadian Aerophilatelic Society     has a journal, The Canadian
    Aerophilatelist    .

  • Campbell Paterson
    are the New Zealand specialist dealer and publisher.
    Their monthly newsletter can now be downloaded free from their website which also has descriptions of their
    specialised New Zealand
    catalogue    .
    The CP New Zealand Catalogue is a must for all New Zealand collectors.
    Since June 2014, their monthly newsletter, which
    contains lots of information and offers, can be
    downloaded free from their website.
    Earlier newsletters can be downloaded from the New Zealand Society of Great Britain.
  • Auckland City Stamps
    have an online catalogue of New Zealand stamps.
  • Ashford Stamps
    have a postal auction with an emphasis on New Zealand.
  • The Complete Stamp Company have an online stamp site offering both individual items for sale and standard catalogue items.
    They specialise in New Zealand stamps.
  • J R Mowbray have an
    online auction catalogue.
  • Roger Pearce
    maintains a
    list of New Zealand stamp dealers     which is organised by region.
  • John & Jan Fitzpatrick do not have a website, but do have postal auctions covering
    Postal History & Postal Stationery N.Z. & worldwide.

  • Airmail Collector has regular
    auctions including New Zealand items.

Resources

    • Site with Links to British Colonial Stamp Sites, especially

      King George VI       stamps.
    • Although still in its infancy,
      the philatelicdatabase       hopes to become encyclopedic and
      to have databases for worldwide images of post offices and archival
      material from 19th and early 20th century philatelic journals and magazines.
